To Be or Not to Be: Democracy or Oligarchy

During the last two weeks we have seen our president surround himself with billionaires who are removing accountability structures. We voters seek democratic values: Facts. Integrity. Decency. Responsible Leadership. Opportunity. We must hold MAGA accountable for their efforts to destroy our government following the plans in Project 2025.

If we support an America of billionaires, for the billionaires and by the billionaires then we, who are working, and the middle class will be stuck with more taxes. We were promised improved living conditions for the working class. We need affordable food and housing, not tariffs that will cost our jobs. The MAGA budget will hurt families. MAGA wants to change spending for Social Security and Medicare  and other entitlements to people, businesses, and state and local governments. By gutting the government MAGA wants to provide massive tax breaks for the wealthy.

Safety and security are important values. The MAGA oligarch is a felon who pardoned and freed 1500 violent criminals who beat police officers. MAGA betrayed the police!

Oligarchs want to destroy the government, deny freedom of speech and freedom of the press. Oligarchs want to raid and kick out immigrants rather than recognize how immigrants serve our economy in manufacturing, agriculture, home and health care, construction and food services.

Oligarchs practice oppression, fear and chaos. Distractions and deception keep us from paying attention while MAGA destroys our government, fires our expert bureaucrats, decimates our services and condones violence. Already we have faithful servants of the republic like Dr. Fauci, General Millay and John Bolton, lose security clearance.

Follow the U.S. Constitution! Congress must exercise its power of the purse. The Senate must practice its power to advise and consent. Our elected members of Congress, and voters, need to stand up to the Oligarchy.

Ben Franklin said,” We have a Republic if we can keep it.”

Let us hold our leaders accountable for our democracy!
